Adoptive Parents FAQ
Q: How long does it take to adopt a newborn?
A: At Adoptions With Love, the average adoption is within 6-18 months of completion of the home study.
Q: What do the fees cover?
A: As a non-profit adoption agency, our goal is to find the best home for every child. Adoption fees cover all of the necessary costs of advertising, medical care, counseling and legal expenses for the birth family, and any out of state legal fees related to termination of parental rights, completion of the adoption paperwork after the baby is born, the Interstate Compact, and instate legal fees regarding placement. AWL charges a flat fee for all placements, so you have no unexpected expenses arise during the process.
Q: What happens to our fee if the birthmother decides to parent?
A: You will not lose your money. This is a common concern for adoptive parents. At AWL, your placement fee is paid at the time your child is placed with you.
