Choosing Adoptive Parents for your baby

Adoptions With Love, Inc. wants your baby to have the best possible future.

In addition to interviewing the adoptive mother and father, we make sure the baby will have the benefit of a loving extended family – grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We carefully screen and investigate all couples applying to adopt a baby to ensure that they will provide the baby with an excellent home including:

  • An examination of the couple’s work history, physical and emotional health, financial situation, and personal relationships.
  • A clearance is completed on each prospective adoptive family to ensure that your child will be raised in a safe, happy and loving home.
  • A full and complete police and social services clearance is required of each couple.

Adoptive couples prepare for parenthood by taking part in a series of classes where they learn about child development and baby care as well as explaining adoption to children.

Adoptions With Love, Inc. continues to follow each family after placement. Their social worker has ongoing contact with the family throughout your child’s infancy. This follow-up helps support the family in developing a loving attachment with their new child.

Milana and Jim began their marriage with a beautiful and moving wedding ceremony near the ocean.  Their love is very apparent when they speak about one another and consider each other their soul mate and best friend.  Milana describes Jim as a loving, warm, kind, devoted and generous man and says that Jim loves to make her laugh. Jim admires Milana’s loving, compassionate, warm-hearted and thoughtful ways, and says she will be “the best mom in the world.”  This couple loves spending time together at the family beach house, swimming in the ocean, hiking with their dog, cooking for family and friends or cuddling on the couch while watching movies, reading, or listening to music.  They are overcome with joy when they imagine parenting a child through adoption and plan to share their child’s adoption story with them.  Jim’s sister was adopted so this couple knows exactly how much love adoption can add to a family!

Tim and Wendy are very excited to add a new family member to their family. They are the proud parents of two-year old Brian who makes them smile constantly. Adopting a new little one in their home just seems right for them. They feel that they will always be open with their adopted child. They also are committed to help their child when it comes time, if they want to meet their birthparents. This family enjoys spending as much time together as possible by boating, weekend trips to the ocean, swimming, cooking and visiting with friends and family.

Brandon and Laura were friends before they started dating and feel that their friendship was the best way to start a relationship- and their marriage. They feel truly blessed in their relationship with each other and with both of their big families. They both had happy and loving childhoods, and they can’t wait to share all of these blessings with their children. They say that they are “grown up children at heart” because they have always shared so much laughter and joy. Brandon and Laura truly enjoy doing everything together including traveling, enjoying music, playing games and sports, watching college sports, and most of all hanging out with family and friends.  They have recently bought a new home in a quiet and safe suburb, with a nice yard and a neighborhood full of children. Brandon and Laura both always knew they wanted to be parents and are excited about their adoption journey.  They have both sets of parents and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who all live close by who are also excited to welcome a new baby to the family.

Steve and Susan met through friends at a sporting event.  They felt a connection right away and had so much in common that they knew they were meant to be together.  Their plans for marriage always included having children.  When they began having infertility problems they knew that adoption was the next natural choice.  Their very good friends have adopted two children and they have seen the unconditional love that this family shares.  Steve and Susan know that they will be the same way. They live in a great family neighborhood with a swing set in their back yard and often have little “visitors.”  Their love and enjoyment they share for their 26 nieces and nephews has them more than ready to be parents!

Chrissy and Peter met at work and their friendship turned to dating and eventually marriage. After several years of struggling with infertility they finally welcomed their beautiful daughter GiGi into their lives five years ago and always knew they wanted more children.  When infertility problems were faced again by this couple they knew immediately that adoption was the right choice for them.  They have friends who have adopted children and they have always known that being parents was more important than how the child arrived into their family.  They plan on explaining adoption as a bond between birthparents, the child and the adoptive family.  Chrissy and Peter and GiGi live in a great neighborhood, filled with lots of children and spend time going to outdoor concerts, the beach and the parks

Jenn and Ramsay are college sweethearts who have been married for 7 years.  They have a strong relationship built on trust, open communication, and a shared sense of humor. The love and support of one another, friends, and family sustained them through their journey with infertility.  Jenn and Ramsay feel their desire to love and raise a child will make them incredible parents.  They also feel the concept of adoption will be an important part of their child’s life, and they have already started thinking about how to teach their child about it at various ages. They have a beautiful home in a quiet suburb with great schools, and love living in a neighborhood full of kids who play outside just like they did when growing up.  Jenn and Ramsay, as well as their families and friends, are thrilled that they will become parents through adoption!

Ben and Jodie began a close friendship at work and eventually began dating and got married on the beach on the 4th of July!  Fireworks lit the beach and they will forever enjoy fireworks on their anniversary.

Jodie and Ben feel they are the perfect fit for one another and love spending every moment together. They are definately each others best friend. Although they were saddened when they realized that having a biological child was not going to happen they happily embraced adoption as a way to begin their family.  This couple's youth and                                                                                         enthusiasm shines through them.

Eddie and Beth met on a blind date and 9 months later they became engaged on a cruise ship to Bermuda! Beth says that Eddie makes her laugh and remembers to have fun. Eddie feels so lucky to have Beth to come home to at night. They love doing everything together including their nightly bike rides. When Beth and Eddie discovered that they were unable to have a biological child they knew immediately that adoption was a natural choice for them.  Their love of family shows when they speak of their nieces and nephews. They recently put a new in ground pool in their back yard and love having everyone over for barbecues. Their entire extended families are eagerly waiting for Beth and Eddie to welcome a new little one into their hearts and home.

Andrea and Mark were set up by their best friends and almost immediately they knew they were meant to be together.  They both feel fortunate to have come from very large, loving and supportive families (Andrea has five brothers and sisters and Mark has six). They have twenty-three nieces and nephews and can’t wait for their child to be a part of the family! They are an adventurous couple who love to travel and experience new activities while sharing their love of the water. Mark grew up on a lake and Andrea on the ocean. They were married on an unforgettably beautiful April day in 2007 near the ocean surrounded by the love of family and friends. Initially they were heartbroken by infertility but feel fortunate that it has brought them even closer as a couple. Andrea and Mark strongly believe that it was God’s plan that they were meant to be together and that they build their family through adoption. Their parents, siblings, nieces and nephews are all just as excited for them to adopt.

Maureen and Craig are returning to Adoptions With Love to adopt their second child. They adopted their daughter Victoria Nicole in 2006, and are thrilled to be her parents. Their hopes of adopting again are to “double the joy” they have with one child right now. Both Maureen and Craig are close to their siblings and feel that is important for their children to experience this kind of love. They also plan on talking with their children about adoption as they grow. This family lives near many parks and playgrounds and a family center with everything from karate to dance classes. They also enjoy time at their second home on the beach and spend time swimming and boating. They all value the time they spend as a family.

Michael and Joan have been married for three wonderful years and feel blessed to have found each other.  They want so much to have a family and were devastated when fertility treatments were not successful.  They can’t wait to raise a child.  They have so much fun with their nieces, nephew, friends' children and Godchildren, they are truly looking forward to being parents. They enjoy hosting family get-togethers in their home, including summer BBQs and their annual family Christmas Party complete with caroling around the piano Joan plays.   They enjoy taking walks, vacationing at the beach and spending time at their aunt & uncle's house in the mountains where they can be found jet skiing on the lake in the summer, and snow tubing and skiing in the winter.  Adoption has been a part of both their lives since they were kids as each grew up with adopted cousins.  They feel adopting a child would be yet another gift for their extended family, and a true blessing allowing them to create a loving family of their own.

Kara and Anthony met at a pizzeria (Anthony had to memorize Kara’s phone number

because they had no pen!) They dated, got married and began a life together. Both Kara and nthony are thrilled to be coming back to Adoptions With Love for a second adoption. They positively beam when they speak about their son Joseph who is soon to be four years old, and they are all excited to add a new little sister or brother to this family. Kara is a caring, sensitive and thoughtful person making her a wonderful mom. Anthony is an elementary school principal and says he has always known he could make a difference in children’s lives. He loves to come home at night to Kara and Joseph. They are a fun family –always laughing and smiling. The three of them cannot wait for a new baby to join the fun.
